While Parents attend Homeschooling for Excellence 101, children ages 4-12 can attend a variety of workshops given by speakers who will challenge them to become active and excited learners. Our goal is to remind children that learning is rewarding and interesting and that learning can happen anywhere, at anytime.

This year, we are pleased to have Children’s Conferences International participate in KidsZone.

Children’s Conferences International is one of the United State’s largest traveling children’s ministries. CCI provides energetic and original teaching for children ages 5 – 12. CCI’s ministry teams can be found at Christian Home Education Conventions, National Church Events, Vacation Bible Schools, and super-sized Sunday Schools.

At the Chicago Homeschool Expo, CCI will present its 2010 theme, Star Patrol! Join Captain Jacob Clark and his crew aboard the star ship U.S.S. Energize as they help protect Earth from the evil plans of the renegade Crimulians. A strong Christian, Capt. Clark has many opportunities to put his faith in action as he makes important decisions against a growing threat from the enemy. Capt. Clark is assisted by First Officer Sprocket, who prefers logic over faith. During their adventures, Capt. Clark demonstrates to Sprocket the significance of a life well lived for the Creator. Will Sprocket change his mind and, more importantly, his heart?

Parents won’t have to worry about their children learning about aliens or some mysterious force in this fun filled futuristic space age theme. Children WILL learn important life lessons about trusting God, faith over atheism, and the dangers of being enamored by the world.

Jim Weiss has been a storyteller for over 25 years. In June, 1989, Jim decided to do something more with the craft that he had formerly practiced solely for pleasure. He and his wife, Randy, formed a production company, Greathall Productions, and have thus far produced forty three (43) storytelling recordings with enticing titles from classical literature, such as Greek Myths, King Arthur and Sherlock Holmes.

Jim’s Greathall line is the recipient of more than 80 major national awards from The American Library Association, Parents’ Choice Foundation, NAPPA, the Parents’ Council, The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, The Film Advisory Board, Parents’ Guide to Children’s Media Award and more. Weiss’ newest releases are “Julius Caesar and the Story of Rome” and “Carry On, Mr. Bowditch.”
